Pistachio Baklava<\/span><\/td>\nAlqud’s Mediterranean Grill & Grocery <\/a>(Albuquerque)<\/span><\/td>\nFinely ground pistachios top triangle-shaped baklava, offsetting the cloying honey syrup and lending both texture and flavor.\u00a0 This is a dessert so good you’ll want it before your entrees are served.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Maple Pecan Pie<\/span><\/td>\nSugar Nymphs Bistro<\/a>\u00a0(Pe\u00f1asco)<\/span><\/td>\nLayer upon layer of rich, sweet maple and chocolate overlayed by pecans made decadent and delicious and served with whipped cream.\u00a0 It takes pecan pie to another level.<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Banana Bread Pudding<\/span><\/td>\nBlades’ Bistro (Placitas<\/span><\/a>)<\/span><\/span><\/td>\nFirm yet spongy texture that\u2019s absolutely spot-on.\u00a0 Mouth-watering flavor coupling bananas and rum, the latter cutting the sweetness of the former.\u00a0 It\u2019s a winning combination, an adult bread pudding.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Banana Split<\/span><\/td>\nSlate Street Cafe <\/a>(Albuquerque)<\/span><\/td>\nCaramelized bananas, chocolate, vanilla, berry ice creams, cashew nuts, peanuts, chocolate sauce and whipped cream and it’s big <\/span>enough for two!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Tiramisu<\/span><\/td>\nJoe’s Pasta House <\/a>(Rio Rancho)<\/span><\/td>\nThe unanimous best dessert winner during the 2014 Taste of Rio Rancho, this tiramisu has been known to make grown men (and a few food critics) swoon with appreciation and love.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
New Mexican Wedding Cake<\/span><\/td>\nMary & Tito’s<\/a>
\n(Albuquerque)<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n		The home to New Mexico’s best red chile is also home to one of its best desserts, a decadent yellow cake\u00a0made with walnuts and pineapple and topped with a cream cheese frosting.\u00a0 It’s spectacular!

Chocolate Cake<\/span><\/td>\nWestern View Diner & Steakhouse <\/span><\/a>(Albuquerque)<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n A thick slab is easily big enough for two and is as delicious as any chocolate cake you\u2019ve ever had anywhere. The frosting is thick yet not at all cloying as are the frosting in those hideous store-bought Plaster of Paris designer cakes. It\u2019s diet devastating delicious.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Mangoes with Sticky Rice<\/span><\/td>\nThai Cuisine (<\/a>Albuquerque)<\/span>
\n<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/td>\n		When in season, mangoes with sweet sticky rice make a refreshing dessert contrasting the sweet tanginess of mangoes and the near cloying flavor of coconut with the neutral to sweet flavor of sticky rice<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Gajar ka Halwa<\/span><\/td>\nNamaste Restauran<\/span><\/a>t (Rio Rancho<\/span><\/span><\/td>\nThis sweet and dense confection made with carrots, butter and milk is my very favorite Indian dessert.\u00a0 No one does it better than Rio Rancho’s Namaste Restaurant.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
