For John, it&#8217;s Jack; for William, it&#8217;s Bill and for James, it&#8217;s Jim. It&#8217;s no wonder I was so confused when President John F. Kennedy was also called Jack and actor Jimmy Stewart was also referred to as James.\u00a0 In New Mexican Spanish, our diminutives are much simpler.\u00a0 For male names, we simply add &#8220;ito&#8221; James Tiberius Kirk, captain of the starship Enterprise; actors James Brolin and James Cagney; Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States; singers Jimi Hendrix, James Taylor, Jim Croce and Jimmy Buffet; Served with toast or tortilla). \u00a0 Though usually smothered with red or green chile, you can opt out of having chile (an unpardonable offense for chile not made with cumin).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_20033\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-20033\" style=\"width: 470px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-20033 lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 470px; doesn&#8217;t always or necessarily mean a server hovering over your table and wooing you with all the right wait schtick. \u00a0Our server, for example, dissuaded us from even considering the oatmeal. \u00a0She acknowledged that it&#8217;s pre-packaged and hardens quickly. \u00a0Moreover, she told us it can be used to seal cracks in a building&#8217;s stucco. \u00a0When we asked about the salsa, she told us it comes from a Pace Picante jar. \u00a0It may as well be from New York City. \u00a0That&#8217;s the type of honesty every server (and politician) should have!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_63278\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-63278\" style=\"width: 750px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-63278 lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 750px; when I asked about the green chile cheeseburger. \u00a0&#8220;Hot,&#8221; as you know is a relative term&#8230;or maybe even an existential term. \u00a0What&#8217;s hot for one person may not be hot for another. \u00a0She also cautioned that both the soups of the day (green chile chicken and green chile stew) are made with cumin. \u00a0For warning us, I could have kissed her. All sandwiches and burgers are served with your choice of Lay\u2019s Potato chips, fresh fruit, cup of soup, side salad, french fries or coleslaw. I am fond of the GCCB, but I love the Pastrami, Swiss, and Green Chile (piquant and smoky!) on Rye. A dynamite sandwich<\/em>.&#8221;\u00a0 He may not have been as verbose as this loquacious blogger, but he did point out two items on my list.\u00a0 First is the aforementioned <em><strong>green chile cheeseburger<\/strong> <\/em>(Angus beef patty, diced green chile, lettuce, tomato and American cheese), a favorite for both Larry and me.\u00a0 As he pointed out, the chile is piquant and smoky, always a good thing.\u00a0 The excellent coffee, by the way, will kick up the heat on the green chile. \u00a0\u00a0 A condiment caddy on the table is available with mustard, ketchup and Tabasco sauce with which to adorn your burger.\u00a0 No matter how you dress it, it&#8217;s an excellent burger.\u00a0 Angus beef is a cut above.<\/p>\n<p><strong>25 March 2024<\/strong>: \u00a0There are six burgers on Jimmy&#8217;s menu, but there are several more ways you can have them. \u00a0For example, I&#8217;ve been watching our friend John Martin consistently ordering tortilla burgers that look better than whatever it is I ordered. \u00a0Our server didn&#8217;t bat an eye when I asked for a <em><strong>tortilla burger topped with chile cheese fries<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0It&#8217;s an improvement on what is one of the city&#8217;s best green chile cheeseburgers. \u00a0The beef patty is not only Angus beef, but it&#8217;s prepared smash burger style. \u00a0That chile is tongue-tingling and absolutely delicious. \u00a0John, you need to try this one!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_66114\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-66114\" style=\"width: 563px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-66114 lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 563px; Jimmy McGill (AKA Saul Goodman) hawking cinnamon rolls.\u00a0 The photo is captioned\u00a0 &#8220;<em>Better Call Saul Was Filmed Here<\/em>.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0 The highly acclaimed series set in Albuquerque was never actually shot at Jimmy&#8217;s Cafe, but it was filmed at the Cottonwood location of Cinnabon which is owned by Jimmy&#8217;s owner Steven Reynolds (so why isn&#8217;t the restaurant named Stevie&#8217;s, Steven&#8217;s, Steve&#8217;s, Esteban&#8217;s?).\u00a0\u00a0 My Kim loves <em><strong>cinnamon rolls<\/strong> <\/em>even more than she loves chicken.\u00a0 Cinnabon serves them exactly the way she loves them&#8211;with lots of cinnamon, frosting, butter and hot.\u00a0 Unlike the chicken sandwich, she didn&#8217;t even offer me a bite of her cinnamon roll.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_63280\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-63280\" style=\"width: 555px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-63280 lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 555px;
