Love his smokers too.\u00a0How\u2019s the barbecue? Absolutely outstanding.\u00a0 I\u2019m laying here in a food coma! Smoked meats and sumptuous sides are ferried over from the smoker, that metallic monolithic source of intoxicating aromas and delicious flavors.\u00a0 Befitting its Liliputian digs, Nomad&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/slicelife.com\/restaurants\/nm\/albuquerque\/87107\/nomad-s-bbq\/menu?utm_campaign=direct_websites\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>menu<\/strong> <\/a>is rather limited, ofering brisket, pulled pork and hot link sandwiches as well as ribs, turkey legs and meats by the pound.\u00a0 Theo&#8217;s business card also lists rib tips (Tom Molitor, are you reading this?), something we didn&#8217;t notice until afterwards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Verdana;\">One of the most popular indulgences at the New Mexico State Fair are \u00a0<em><strong>turkey legs.<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 Nomad&#8217;s looked as if they came from a pterodactyl, the carnivorous winged reptile of the Jurassic period.\u00a0 One would have tipped over Fred Flintstones\u2019s car.\u00a0 One is easily a meal, a thousand calorie indulgence that might just have your arteries waving the white flag in surrender.\u00a0 Your favorite Thanksgiving feast never tasted so good.\u00a0 It\u2019s a smoky, meaty, juicy and so good only the carcass will be left when you\u2019re done.\u00a0 The glistening skin has a slight crunch that gives way easily to the tender, unctuous deliciousness of the turkey which was brined to keep it moist and flavorful.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_57830\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-57830\" style=\"width: 750px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/b4385483.smushcdn.com\/4385483\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/NomadsBBQ05-scaled.jpeg?lossy=2&strip=1&webp=1\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-57830 lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 750px; font-family: Verdana;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.memphisinmay.org\/events\/world-championship-barbecue-cooking-contest\/winner-archive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Memphis in May<\/strong><\/a>, the world barbecue championship, has an &#8220;ancilliary awards&#8221; category for &#8220;anything but&#8221; whole hog, shoulder and ribs.\u00a0 Surprisingly &#8220;anything but&#8221; doesn&#8217;t include sides.\u00a0 Neither does a &#8220;miscellaneous&#8221; category.\u00a0 Does that mean sides are the Rodney &#8220;No Respect&#8221; Dangerfield of barbecue?\u00a0 Not in my book!\u00a0 Nomad&#8217;s offers some of the best sides you&#8217;ll find: bbq baked beans, dirty rice, pineapple coleslaw and sweetened loose corn.\u00a0 We had three of the four and can&#8217;t wait to try the dirty rice during our next visit.\u00a0 All were superb!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;
