and it&#8217;s unlikely he would have received any argument from the periphrastic\u00a0 host.\u00a0 In part that&#8217;s because Chef Ruggiero is a former United States Marine.\u00a0 With tatooed guns nearly the size of Hulk Hogan&#8217;s, he still looks like he could take on a regiment of terrorists single-handedly.\u00a0 Despite the chef&#8217;s enviable musculature, Fieri observed a culinary technique he described as &#8220;<em>such a big hand doing it so daintily<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_69037\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-69037\" style=\"width: 658px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-69037 lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 658px; Chef Ruggiero is the founder of Cast Iron Concepts, the Scottsdale-based hospitality group with three popular neighborhood establishments under its umbrella.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_69038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-69038\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-69038 lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 650px; his style may be better defined by the letters tatooed on his sausage-sized finers.\u00a0 &#8220;Home&#8221; is spelled out on one hand and &#8220;Made&#8221; on the other.\u00a0 The term &#8220;Homemade&#8221; aptly describes the chef&#8217;s guiding principle.\u00a0 When you visit Hush, you&#8217;ll quickly discern that the chef takes liberties (plays) with food.\u00a0 Whatever your conception of &#8220;Italian Beef&#8221; may be, Chef Ruggiero&#8217;s rendition will blow you away.\u00a0 It&#8217;s wholly unlike any Italian beef you&#8217;ve ever had&#8230;and he&#8217;s been serving it his way since long before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fxnetworks.com\/shows\/the-bear\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Bear<\/strong><\/a> made America curious about Italian Beef.\u00a0 Much of the Hush menu is replete with unique culinary creations.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_69039\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-69039\" style=\"width: 750px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-69039 lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 750px; though the menu isn&#8217;t segmented.\u00a0 We decided on the <em><strong>roasted delicata squash<\/strong><\/em> (bourbon mascarpone, apple mostarda, hazelnut gremolata) in which the naturally sweet flavor of roasted squash was ameliorated by savory notes and slightly tart complements courtesy of the apple mostards.\u00a0 This starter was a textural delight, too, with crunchy hazelnuts providing wonderful contrast to mostly soft ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>Marrying my Chicago born-and-bred bride introduced me to Italian beef sandwiches (typically thin slices of roast beef simmered and served au jus on French bread).\u00a0 Italian beef sandwiches are the Windy City&#8217;s most delicious contribution to the sandwich sphere.\u00a0 Hush offers an upscale and unique take on <em><strong>Italian beef<\/strong><\/em> that I&#8217;ll be dreaming about.\u00a0 A single slice of brioche is topped with three slices of smoked provolone, braised oxtail and giardinaire.\u00a0 On the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives episode in which Hush was featured, the painstakingly thorough process of creating this Italian beef was explained.\u00a0 Fieri&#8217;s reaction: &#8220;<em>My mouth right now is like the sirens going off at the Hoover Dam that release the water<\/em>.&#8221;\u00a0 I&#8217;ll echo that.\u00a0 This may have been the very best Italian beef AND oxtail dish to every cross my lips.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_69041\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-69041\" style=\"width: 621px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-69041 lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 621px;
